Don’t miss a riveting conversation brought to you by the Museum Educators of Southern California. Museum exhibitions have the capacity to transform how visitors understand a set of ideas, themselves, and the world. Join Leslie Bedford, museum consultant, veteran educator, and former director of the Leadership in Museum Education Program at Bank Street Graduate School of Education, as she expands on ideas shared in her recently published book, The Art of Museum Exhibitions: How Story and Imagination Create Aesthetic Experiences. Leslie will reflect on what makes museum experiences truly powerful and memorable, drawing on her research trips to countless museums and her own work at the Boston Children’s Museum. This program will offer a great opportunity to hear and interact with a thought leader in the field and to connect with other educators from across Southern California.
The program will include working time with colleagues over a brown bag lunch as well as the opportunity to visit the Skirball Cultural Center’s award-winning children’s and family destinationNoah’s Ark at the Skirball.
