#MESCcares A Glimpse Into Your Inner World

Safe at home, many have turned inwards to pause and reflect. Explore a visual outlet for your introspection in MESC’s mandala workshop led by artist and museum educator Hanna Meshell. A mandala is a geometric representation of the universe in Hindu, Buddhist and Jain art. At its center is an encircled deity surrounded by a square with four pathways for each cardinal direction. Both within and beyond the square are divinities and stories associated with the central figure. In this workshop you will be the protagonist of your mandala and investigate what your universe looks like. You will need a square piece of paper, a cup, a small bowl or plate, drawing materials and (of course) your creativity. If you cannot attend the zoom meeting refer to a provided worksheet to make a mandala on your own time. Together, create work as a community of inner worlds and shared human experiences.
